About this Qualification
This qualification reflects the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.
Achievement of this qualification by trainers is a requirement of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.
Those entering this program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.

People who would enrol into this qualification
There are THREE types of learners who will enrol in this course:
You have NO existing skills, knowledge and experience in Training and Assessment Environments
You are interested in learning about the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and in particular, the skills and knowledge to become a qualified trainer and assessor to gain employment into the training and assessment industry.
You have been engaged in the workforce for many years doing a variety of different types of work, or have industry experience in VET, although have not completed formal nationally accredited and recognised training in relation to training and assessment.
You have usually been engaged in the workforce for many years doing a variety of different types of work, and are looking to increase your skills and knowledge so that you can take on new roles within respective workplaces.

After achieving TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, candidates may undertake a Diploma of Training and Assessment or may choose to undertake a Vocational Graduate Certificate in Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice.
